Our Founder
A lover of jewelry and all its intricacies. Mel has always been drawn to pieces that tell a story and her journey to jewelry started as a passion. After attending countless metalsmithing classes, she was guided toward what would soon become her career, creating modern yet nostalgic jewelry designed to be collected over time.
A proponent of reimagining the classics, Mel’s approach has always been about building collections that feel personal: mixing metals, layering textures, combining unexpected colours in ways that are unmistakably MAJ.
Travel is a key element in sparking inspiration and new ideas in Mel’s designs. Exploration allows her to refresh and rejuvenate, creating space to put her process in motion and connect to new people and places that will inevitably inform her work. Sourcing one of a kind stones, a colour combination glimpsed on a coastline, a charm that captures a moment. These are the inspirations that find their way into Mel’s collections.
It wasn’t until after years of traveling and living abroad that she settled down in Vancouver with her husband and two children, realizing then that designing jewelry was her calling. In 2013, her namesake, Melanie Auld Jewelry, was born, a collection of fine and demi-fine pieces designed to ignite connection and mark meaningful moments, both big and small. Each piece showcases the power of storytelling and the people and places we meet along the way. Layered, mixed, and made entirely your own.

Our collections feature solid 10k and 14k gold, gold vermeil, gold-plated, and sterling silver, alongside cord and natural materials, like wood and gemstones. Signature offerings include our Tennis collection, engravable charms, and made-to-order pieces. For something more personal, our build-a-charm-necklace and Pietra Experience, a build your-own semi-precious stone necklace and bracelet bar, are available in our flagship boutique.
